TASTING NOTE The grapes for this delicious Sauvignon Blanc were sourced predominantly from the cooler elevated terraces of the Crownthorpe district of Hawkes Bay, located a little inland at the upper reaches of the Ngaruroro River, and a smaller portion from the much admired Awatere region of Marlborough. They were harvested at ideal ripeness between 14th and 20th April 2014 in optimal condition and at the height of flavour development. On arrival at the winery, the grapes were immediately pressed off their skins and the juice cool tank fermented to retain its fresh fruity character and lively acidity that this variety is classically renowned for. It was then allowed to rest on lees for a short period after ferment for enhanced complexity, before the wine was lightly fined and filtered. Then bottled under screw cap October and December 2014. This classic Hawkes Bay Sauvignon Blanc has been crafted in an off-dry style, brimming with flavours and aromas of passionfruit and tropical stonefruit with a dash of lime. It is deliciously appealing on its own or matched with seafood and Asian style dishes.
